Abe is the Data Scientist at PIC and is responsible for data management and analysis. Using his skills in statistics and programming, Abe manages a pipeline that implements unsupervised learning techniques to flag potentially fraudulent claims, as well as extracts, transforms, and loads datasets in a format best suited for the clients needs.
Prior to his time at PIC, Abe spent three years as a Statistical Programmer for the Quantitative Health Sciences division at the Mayo Clinic. In his time at Mayo, Abe belonged to the computational biology department and worked on a COVID-19 Biobank study as well as a series of projects in individualized medicine. Abe worked alongside statisticians and doctors to collect, manage, and analyze data in prospective and retrospective research studies using various programming tools and machine learning techniques.
Abe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Statistics from St. Olaf College as well as a Master of Science degree in Data Science from the University of Denver.
