Billy has 20 years’ of experience in healthcare safety and security. He is a dedicated and loyal safety professional with leadership in security and fire safety management within a healthcare setting. Billy coordinates all onsite pharmacy auditing operations with Susan Hayes.
Most recently, William Billy served as Brookdale Hospital University Medical Center’s Assistant Vice President Safety/Security/Emergency Management, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System’s Director of Security/Fire Safety, and New York’s St. Vincent Medical Center’s Corporate Director of Security /Fire Safety.Billy supervised over 75 staff members for all security/safety issues relating to the hospital. He served on the Environment of Care committee, coordinated risk assessment and was responsible for overseeing fire safety. Billy directly participated in JCAHO audits and managed an annual budget of $3.5 million. He performed background checks and investigated identity theft and fraud. Additionally, Billy has DHS funding and grant application experience.
In his earlier career, Billy worked for SCO Family of Services in New York and the New York City Police Department. In those roles, Billy oversaw and contracted vendors at four homeless shelters throughout NYC, implemented fire and life safety programs, supervised security, maintenance and unionized trades performing work in buildings, and supervised the installation of security systems throughout buildings. As the Auto Larceny Coordinator, Lieutenant with the NYPD, Billy directed, analyzed and transmitted orders, and he evaluated criminal, administrated and personal conditions related to auto theft and fraud. He coordinated staffing, budgeting and other precinct conditions, analyzed crime trends and administrative processes, media relations, community relations and communicated with various other city agencies/vendors, and he participated in 9/11 rescue and recovery operations in NYC. He supervised units, conducted investigations and led undercover surveillance of pattern crimes to the New York City Transit system.
Billy has a Bachelor Degree in Organizational Management from St. St. Josephs College, Brooklyn, NY, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marist College School of Management, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Billy also has the following credentials and training: NY State Licensed Private Investigator, Greater NY Hospital Association Emergency Preparedness Council, Auto Crime School (NYPD), Executive Protection Training (NYPD), Counter-Terrorism Methodology (NYPD), Licensed Commercial and Residential Real Estate license, Crime prevention training security survey certified (NYPD), FEMA certified IS 1-IS800, Fire Safety Director credentials, and New York State Security Guard Instructor certification.
